Representatives of An Foras P\u00e1tr\u00fanachta and Gaelcholaiste an Phiarsaigh recently had the opportunity to visit Loreto Abbey, the building where Gaelchol\u00e1iste an Phiarsaigh will reside. Loreto Abbey is located on Grange Road, Rathfarnham, Dublin 14. Formerly a private school, the building was purchased by the Department of Education and Skills for Gaelchol\u00e1iste an Phiarsaigh.The school will open its doors at the end of the summer. First year pupils only will start in the school for the 2014\/2015 school year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was delighted to have the opportunity to pay a visit to Gaelchol\u00e1iste an Phiarsaigh\u2019s new building today,” said Caoimh\u00edn \u00d3 hEaghra, General Secretary of An Foras P\u00e1tr\u00fanachta (above right with Lorc\u00e1n Mac Gabhann, Chairperson of the school’s Board of Management.) <\/p>\n

\u201cIt is evident that there was and will be an excellent educational institution here. Gaelchol\u00e1iste an Phiarsaigh is on the Department\u2019s 5 year building plan and as a result, the renovation of the entire building will commence this summer.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a strong link between the Irish language and the Irish medium education in this area, with the Pearse museum just up the road, a place where P\u00e1dr\u00e1ig Mac Piarais ran Col\u00e1iste \u00c9anna from 1910 to 1916.<\/p>\n
