Irish-Language Courses

The aim of An Foras Pátrúnachta schools is to foster an Irish-language ethos in our schools and to create the best immersion experience for our students. To this end, every member of staff in the school has a role to play in promoting the Irish-language: teachers, secretaries, caretakers, SNAs, members of the board of management and others.

To help achieve this, An Foras Pátrúnachta is delighted to be organising Irish-language courses in collaboration with Gaelchultúr which will begin on 09/10 March and will last for 10 weeks.

There are courses available to suit all levels of fluency and ability. Whether you are a new learner or someone with a high level of fluency but want to brush up on your Irish, there is a course for you. The courses are also suitable for those preparing for the TEG exam.

It’s easy to determine your current level of Irish through the online Irish Test and you’ll receive a recommendation on which course is most suitable for you.

Below are the course details:

• Cost €210 for 10 online classes (2 hours per week). We ask boards of management to be as generous as possible in funding staff and boards to undertake the courses.
• A €10 discount is available by using the code AFP2026 when registering.
• A certificate of attendance will be awarded to those who attend 8 or more classes.
• Included is a digital course manual and 3 months access to ranganna.com online resources, worth €45.
