Gaelscoil an Ghoirt Álainn began its 20 year celebrations recently by taking part in Cork City’s St. Patrick’s Day parade. Children form 3rd ,4th,5thand 6th class proudly represented their school at the event.
Gaelscoil an Ghoirt Álainn was the first Gaelscoil in the country to be under the patronage of An Foras Pátrúnachta.
Wednesday the 19th of March was a day of bonding for Gaelscoil an Ghoirt Álainn students both past an present. Former students visited the school and shared with the children their happy memories, stories and experiences of time spent at Gaelscoil an Ghoirt Álainn.
Singer songwriter, John Spillane, preformed in the school on Thursday. Spillane is a former Irish teacher for parents at Gaelscoil an Ghoirt Álainn,
making it a special day for all involved, John included.
An art exhibition was held in the school on Friday in which pieces created by the 6th class students were displayed. The school’s history was the chosen subject for the exhibition and photography display.
To top the celebrations off there will be a social gathering for all involved in the school who are over the age of 18on the 4th of April in the Silver Springs Hotel. Tickets are available from the school and are priced at 25 euro per person.
