A meeting will take place in Portlaoise this week to discuss the possibility of setting up an all-Irish speaking secondary school in the area.
Caoimhín Ó hEaghra, General Secretary of An Foras Pátrúnachta, will meet parents who would interested in enrolling their children in a Gaelcholáiste at a public meeting. The meeting will take place in Gaelscoil Phortlaoise on Thursday January 16 at 7pm.
Dominic Ó Braonáin, principal of Gaelscoil Phortlaoise, says some parents are interested in setting up such a school. The demand for a Gaelcholáiste must be ascertained first.
