A young student from Gaelcholaiste Chill Dara in Naas has succeeded in getting her poetry published.
Saoirse Ni Dhuingneáin is only thirteen years of age and is a second year student at GCCD.
Her poem Summer won its place in the book, called Wild Word’s, in recent months. The volume is produced as part of the Wild Words Children’s literature Festival.
Saoirse is keeping up a fine tradition of writing success that is established within the school.
She is very excited with the new writers group and forum which came together last week to form “Author”. The new students workshops are chaired by senior students in the school.
Seamus O’Ceannain, principal of Gaelcholáiste Chill Dara, is delighted with the new writers’ forum and said it offers the students a platform to extend and create with their talents.
D'éirigh le dhalta óg ó Gaelcholáiste Chill Dara sa Nás a cuid filíocht a bheith foilsithe.
Níl Saoirse Ní Dhuingneáin ach 13 bliana d'aois agus í sa dara bliain i GCCD.
Bhuaigh a dán "Summer" áit sa leabhar 'Wild Words' le déanaí. Cuireadh an leabhar le chéile mar páirt den féile litríochta 'Wild Worlds Children Festival'.
Tá Saoirse ag leanúint ar aghaidh leis an traidisiún iontach de rath an scríbhneoireacht atá bunaithe sa scoil.
Tá an-sceitimíní uirthi mar gheall ar an ngrúpa agus fóram nua scríbhneoirí a tháinig le chéile an seachtain seo chaite le 'Author' a fhoirmiú. Tá na ceardlann scríbhneoireacht treoraithe ag daltaí sinsear na scoile.
Tá Séamus O'Ceannain, príomhoide Gaelcholáiste Chill Dara, ríméadach leis an bhfóram scríbhneoirí nua, agus deir sé go thugann sé deis do na ndaltaí a gcuid talún a chruthú agus a mhéadú.
