Welcome aboard parents. There are over 20,000 parents and guardians of students in our schools. You will find much useful information under the "Parents" tab above. Parents are at the centre of our school communities and we are grateful for the efforts of parents which benefit the children, Parents Committees in particular. Parents can keep informed on what's happening in our schools by following An Foras Pátrúnachta on social media. If you would like to support our work, you can do so by clicking here.
The below publication, prepared by the INTO, is one which we recommend for parents. In this publication parents are guided by teachers through the practical aspects of the Irish primary school system such as transition from home to school, the first day, school attendance, interculturalism, health and healthy eating, homework, bullying etc.
We have put together a handbook below which details for parents how best to go about resolving an issue in school. There is also a booklet by The Teaching Council below which is referenced in our handbook.
