We wish all the best to the staff and students in Dunamase college. This is the first time An Foras Pátrúnachta has been part with an Aonad at secondary level and we are looking forward to the growth of the school. The following is a report from the school now that the school year is well underway:
There was huge excitement this week with the arrival of the students iPads and everyone was keen to start realising the potential of having technology at their fingertips in the classroom.
Students at Dunamase College will now store, collaborate and research the information that they need for each class, in all the different subjects and can access it at all times on their devices. Through the new short course for the Junior Cert, Digital Media Literacy, students will also learn how to research online, and how to use the internet responsibly and effectively, this is 21st century teaching and learning at its best!
Debating is underway as we start to prepare for Gael Linn, Díospóireacht Uí Chadhain, whereby our team of four students will learn the language and skills needed for public speaking. Best of luck in the competition!
Our musicians have come together to form a trad music band, there will be weekly practice and the group will be entering various music competitions throughout the school year. We’re delighted to be underway and ready to entertain!
