An M.Ed in Irish Medium Education, a post-graduate programme, will commence in Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, in September 2014. The main focus of this programme, M.Ed in Irish Medium Education, will be on pedagogics, the theory of bilingual immersion school and the bilingual policy and will be specifically referenced for the necessary professional development of the linguistic capacity of teachers in Irish medium schools and schools of Gaeltacht regions.

This combined educational program will be available on a part time bases over a two year academic period. The course will be available online or on weekends – Friday 6.30 pm- 9.30 pm and Saturday 9.30 am-12.30 pm.

The course will be available on a learning guide hours bases, the weekend and online seminars will have practical experience and summer schools. There will be important international research, the results and issues within the field of bilingual immersion education will be discussed among the students of the programme.

Twenty people will be accepted on the course in the 2014/2015 academic year. Applications are accepted now until the 20th of June 2014.
